Sand Valley believes that golf is best experienced by walking with a caddie. Not only does it enhance the player’s experience, you're carrying on a tradition. With over 250 caddies from diverse backgrounds and experiences, we believe that experiencing the course, guided by a knowledgeable caddie, provides the most rewarding and authentic way to enjoy the game.
Caddies want to improve your play and make your round even more enjoyable. When taking a Sand Valley Caddie, you can expect the following:
Insight on course knowledge, including hole locations, carry yardages, and green reading
Assistance with pace of play and locating errant shots
Help with maintenance of the course (raking bunkers, fixing divots) and your equipment (cleaning clubs)
Tending, removing and replacing the pin
At Sand Valley, your caddie will typically stay with you for all scheduled rounds of your stay unless you choose to make a change. Please let us know of your caddie requirements before your visit so we can pair you with a caddie who can best fit your needs. Requests should be made before your visit to ensure your caddie is available.
All caddie fees are to be paid by the guest directly to the caddie. The caddie fee is $100 per bag, per round plus gratuity. If you feel that your caddie experience did not meet your expectations, please notify a caddie supervisor or one of our golf shop professionals.
During the round of golf, you will walk over six miles. In the interest of pace of play, caddie health, and safety, your golf bag should be a carry bag with a single or double strap and bag stand that does not exceed 25 lbs. Items in the golf bag should be the essentials for the round you are about to play. Our caddies recommend 14 clubs or less, 1 layering piece of clothing (rain gear if the forecast predicts), water bottle and 6 golf balls. All other items can be left in the room. Please note if you have a large cart bag, we are going to suggest using a change-out bag or if your bag is oversized, we may suggest removing extra equipment. Check in with the Caddie Supervisor or your caddie and they will help move anything you need over to the carry bag or remove extra items. All of your extra equipment is left secured at the facility.
