Meet James

James Stewart is a Level 2 certified Wim Hof Method instructor and is certified in two other breathwork practices. Stewart's personal journey with breathwork and cold exposure began after he discovered the Wim Hof Method and noticed positive changes in his mood and a greater sense of fulfillment. This led him to attend multiple workshops and a week-long excursion in Poland with Wim Hof himself, which profoundly inspired and changed him. Stewart brings his expertise and experience with the Wim Hof Method to Sand Valley's Elemental Wellness Retreat. He leads participants through breathwork and contrast therapy sessions, explaining the science and showing them how to incorporate these practices into their daily routines.

Meet Jesse

Jesse Coomer is a renowned breathwork authority, founder of the Breathwork Tactics program, author of "A Practical Guide to Breathwork" and "The Language of Breath.", educational YouTuber, and as co-founder & lead faculty at The Language of Breath Breathworker School, he trains future breathwork coaches. Jesse’s scientifically grounded approach to breath training caters to a diverse audience, including first responders, athletes, and CEOs. His programs enhance focus, decision-making, and overall well-being, offering specialized techniques for stress management, performance improvement, and recovery.

All activities are optional. There is no pressure to 'take the plunge'. Listening to your body is an important awareness to have and we will be practicing that throughout the weekend. There are also other cold exposure options and opportunities to participate in like a cold walk, cold sitting, and a childhood favorite-snow angels.

If you have any health concerns, talk to your doctor about taking an ice bath and doing super-ventilation breathing exercises. Finishing your showers with a 10-30 second period of cold or cooler water can help. Gaining the confidence and understanding that you and your body are capable of much more than you think, will certainly help your mindset.

The weekend is an opportunity to expand your understanding of your body and mind so being open and curious about new information will elevate your experience. Leaning into physical and mental resistance can facilitate breakthrough of limitations and beliefs that no longer serve you. Asking your facilitators any questions to address any concerns is also recommended.

While Sand Valley provides great room amenities and a variety of equipment for all of your indoor and outdoor fun, you may require additional items for the ultimate experience. Below is an optional list of items that can help you prepare for your visit.
