Sand Valley is thrilled to host it's fifth annual pond hockey tournament, the Sand County Classic. Teams of 6 to 8 players will participate in a 4v4 round-robin tournament beginning Friday afternoon and culminating in championship games Sunday morning. The cancellation policy states that any cancellations made within 14 days of the event date are subject to fees up to the full amount of the total event entry fee. The Sand County Classic is an outdoor event. By entering, you acknowledge that you will be playing on a natural, outdoor ice surface, and ice conditions are at the mercy of Mother Nature. Should the event be canceled due to inclement weather or unsafe ice conditions as determined by the tournament directors, all deposits will be returned at the discretion of Sand Valley’s management team.
Rink-Side Lodging
Sand Valley has it all - golf, hockey, and views. This is the only tournament where you can sleep next to where you skate. Our 4-bedroom cottages are the perfect opportunity for you and your team to relax between games, skate under the moonlight, and meet your competitors before taking them down.

Division Breakdown
Divisional breakdowns are based on skill level and age. Sand Valley guarantees skill levels will each have their own division. Age groups between each skill level are based on team sign-ups.
Please sign up for your team based on the division that aligns best with your team. The tournament director(s) reserves the right to make any decisions regarding tournament rules, format, divisions, etc. for the overall good of the event. In all cases, this decision will be final.
SKILL LEVEL
The advanced divisions will be made up of players with ACHA/club hockey experience and above (juniors/NAHL/USHL, semi-pro, etc.)
The beginner divisions will be made up of players with recreational, youth hockey, youth club, high school, and adult beginner hockey experience.
21+ DIVISION
Players must be 21 years of age or older on the day the tournament starts.
30+ DIVISION
Players must be 30 years of age or older on the day the tournament starts.
40+ DIVISION
Players must be 40 years of age or older on the day the tournament starts.
